Of the Lordships and the lesser ones

Somewhere down the ages, it seems, someone planted this amazing thought into the minds of the laity, that like the priests in the parishes, the judges of courts in civil societies are somehow connected to divinity, dispense divine justice and hence, are beyond the mortal realm of normal beings. It almost seems that there are born of immaculate conception and have been preordained. They're are not one among us. They are from a breed not touched by the original sin and hence, they cannot be sinners!

Sad it is for a country which once had women powerful enough to curse Krishna himself with a curse powerful enough to ultimately lead to his demise, we have Lordships who cannot even be asked how they go about electing their own brethren. An ordinary washerman five thousand years ago could walk into the court of worlds most powerful emperor and slander on his face. Today, it is contempt.

I live in a nation that treats its citizen differently on the basis of caste, creed, religion, ethnicity and financial status. The vegetable vendors kids go on to become vegetable vendors, not doctors and engineers. In this milieu, the only saving grace I have is that I am born a man and not a woman. Their struggles are beyond my comprehension.
